Marrying traditional and new fabrication techniques and materials studio apotroes aims to push the boundaries on the contemporary understanding of furniture design and materiality to provide a new image of sustainability that is inclusive of multiple aesthetics. Through our designs and products, we want to not only offer practical home goods designed to last multiple lifetimes but also explore what and how those goods can be produced to outlive the owner with minimal environmental impact. As such we have two different lines of goods: our main line features traditional materials like sustainability-sourced wood, recycled metal and glass, diverted stone, and organic fabric which utilize traditional and modern fabrication techniques. As well as an experimental line (D&RE diversion and re-application/use/cycle) of limited edition designs that utilize new and unconventional materials like ceramics made from oysters, textiles from cactus or bacteria, and more.
